    Long revered in the Brighton scene for his up-tempo tomfoolery, it’s no surprise that “Hiya!”, his debut album, is littered with jeep-tested dancefloor gems infused with Bushy‚s unique sample-scavenging style. He finds inspiration in the organic soul of the likes of Parliament, The Crusaders, Herbie Hancock, Abdula Ibrahim, and David Axelrod. The rest of the album sees Bushy push off into downbeat territory in the tradition of Blue States, Bonobo and Zero 7 with his usual flair for melody. Tracks like the bittersweet “Never” with haunting vocals from I.K. Dell, “There‚s A Light” and the warm, fuzzy smoked-out soul “R‚s Thing”.
