  • Black Grass – Black Grass

    £5.99£6.99

The Black Grass sound is a celebration of all that is great in ‘club music’. Whether from behind the decks or with their live stage show, they will move your feet, soothe your spirit and stir your soul. Guests include UK hotshot Blak Twang on ‘Easy’ and Bambaata’s son, TC Iz paying tribute to his papa on ‘Bang’. Best of all, lend an ear to the basslines of ‘Control’ and ‘Going Home’ – both of which are bolstered by the awesome vocals of one Ra Khahn.

  • Pepe Deluxé – Beatitude

    £5.99£6.99

Within days of listening to Beatitude for the first time, you’ll imagine DJ Shadow throwing his windows open, realising what a fucking beautiful day it is, and deciding to spend it having a noisy, drunken BBQ with actual human beings rather than picking dust off his sneakers in a record shop basement. Beatitude draws inspiration from all over the globe, while the last album had precisely no live instruments on it whatsoever, this one has guitars, brass sections, piano, strings, electric violins “and lots and lots and lots of drums”

  • Hardkandy – How Do You Do Nothing?

    £5.99£6.99

There are some albums that just draw you in from the outset. Hardkandy’s debut on Catskills is one such album. Floating on that last wave of summer breeze, it’s an album that immediately evokes the feel of the last sunny days of the year: hot and inviting with wild reminisce. Joined by a trio of talented vocalists- namely Ashley Slater, Jess Banks and Phillipa Alexander- it rebuilds the ghost towns of Acid Jazz with towering skyscrapers of deep, thoughtful, soul searching moments.

  • Bushy – Hiya!

    £5.99£6.99

Long revered in the Brighton scene for his up-tempo tomfoolery, it’s no surprise that “Hiya!”, his debut album, is littered with jeep-tested dancefloor gems infused with Bushy‚s unique sample-scavenging style. He finds inspiration in the organic soul of the likes of Parliament, The Crusaders, Herbie Hancock, Abdula Ibrahim, and David Axelrod. The rest of the album sees Bushy push off into downbeat territory in the tradition of Blue States, Bonobo and Zero 7 with his usual flair for melody. Tracks like the bittersweet “Never” with haunting vocals from I.K. Dell, “There‚s A Light” and the warm, fuzzy smoked-out soul “R‚s Thing”.
